It's almost 5:00, which means Scott gets off and gets to come home after running a few errands! I just want to say that I have the best husband in the whole wide world! Seriously, I love that man so much and he amazes me every day by how much he loves me and little Daniel and how much he is willing to do for us! Some days I can't believe how I got such a guy like him, but then I remember that it was all God. It's amazing to think about that... how God knew from the time he created the world that Scott and I would end up marrying and becoming as one. I love thinking back on the year and almost two months we've been married and the year and a half we dated, thinking of all the great times we've had together! All our drives and talks up on the Monument, Mesa, and Glade Park; the times of going to Movie Under the Stars with other couples, playing card games until the movie started; all our many walks through the neighborhoods we've lived in; going to college events with friends; playing tons of games; moving into our first place and then our second; telling Scott I was pregnant; Daniel coming; camping; and so much more! Wow! I love him SO much and can't wait for the many more years we have together! :o)
Gosh, I think I'm quite emotional today... I'm listening to the song, "When I Say I Do" sung and written by Matthew West that Scott's brother, Bryan, and my bridesmaid, Jenny, sung at our wedding. Such a wonderful song! It's so true, though... Scott and I have gone through quite a lot this past year but we are much more in love now than we have ever been before! Even through the pregnancy and Daniel joining our family, we have stuck to our vows and even though we fail at times, we make things right again and always stick by each other! Aaahhh, marriage is SO amazing! :o)

Ready for some cooler weather...
I am sitting in our newly rearranged living room, which is so awesome, watching Daniel sleep in his swing in his room... :o) Scott and I both LOVE changes when it comes to being in a new apartment/house and decorating and rearranging rooms, so we decided to tackle most of our baby-proofing WHILE we move all the furniture around in our living room/middle area where his office stuff is. I love it this way... it looks so much bigger and plus having it all clean is nice, too. I was also able to hang up some new pics, which is always fun. Anyway, that's what we did all day on Saturday. It took a long time because we had SO much to go through, but we were able to throw away a lot and got it all done, so we definitely felt like we accomplished a large amount!
Let's see... Last week we didn't do a whole lot. Thursday night I ended up playing softball for my sister, Lelia, which was fun but interesting. :o) I had not played - swung a bat OR caught a ball - since I was like four months pregnant! I actually didn't do as bad as I thought it would be, because I actually hit a few balls out in the outfield, which I had like never been able to do before! It was fun, but really hot. It was a double header and we were SO close to winning the first game. We were ahead most of it until we ended up losing 12 to 13. The second game we won by 10 so it was over early, which was nice to be able to head home where it was cooler!
Friday night was our date night, which is always a wonderful time for Scott and me! His parents watched Daniel (he did good for them, which was great to hear) and Scott and I went out to eat for Mexican food and then went to Eclipse in the movie theater. Food was delicious, it was SO much fun to just talk and talk, and the movie was actually really good! We both thought it was by far the best of the three so far! After the movie, we went to ColdStones for ice cream (I love it when Scott surprises me like that!) and then went out to Fruita where we hung out for a little while with his parents before taking Daniel home. It was a wonderful evening!
Saturday we cleaned, as I said earlier, and then our good friends, Aaron and Elysa, came over for dinner and Scrabble! We made fajitas and a very yummy mocha triffle and all three of us (Daniel included) really enjoyed the time we spent with them. Daniel is so cute because he loves being with other people! He is getting used to sitting on our laps while we eat dinner with people, and he thinks it's just the greatest thing! He also sits on our laps while we play games and he just smiles all the time and laughs at the cards or people! :o) Lol. So cute.
Yesterday, we went to church, which was great. It was on the book of Daniel and I thought it was so cool to hear again what an amazing man Daniel was and how he did everything to glorify God and not himself. It's makes me pray even more that our Daniel will grow up to be the same type of man one day... A man who lives to glorify God and does not place himself before God and those around him.
After church I ended up going to Sam's Club to develop pictures, which I've been meaning to do for awhile now, and then we had lots of friends over for dinner last night. (It's amazing all the people we can and do have over after we FINALLY get things cleaned up around our apartment!) We had pizza and then strawberry shortcake... yummy, yummy! Then we played Canasta, which is an amazingly fun card game! Yet again, Daniel had a great time "playing" with us! Lol.
That was my week. I should go now and get some things done before he wakes up!

3 Months Old!
Dear Daniel,
Yesterday you turned 3 months old! I can hardly believe you are that 'old' already! You are such an amazing little boy... :o) Almost every day, and definitely every week you are figuring out and doing new things! Just three weeks ago you were beginning to grab onto my hair and some of your toys, and now you seriously grab hold of everything! You were given a couple of white tiger stuffed animals by one of our friends and they are now some of your favorite toys! Mommy puts the little one in your car seat everywhere we go and you love just staring at it, putting it in your mouth, and holding it when you sleep. So cute!
You still love playing with all your rattles and Mr. Octopus on your activity area, too. But now you grab hold of a toy and move it back and forth, back and forth as it makes lots of noise. You also love looking in mirrors... I think you just think some other little boy has come to play. :o) We are very happy that you are finally enjoying tummy time again, although you still have not turned over again, yet! Mommy knows it will happen one day soon, though, so Daddy and I are baby-proofing as much of our place as we can tomorrow before you start moving everywhere!
You are holding up your head great now, so we have been sitting you up on our laps and on the couches a lot to get you used to that... you love sitting! I think it's one of your favorite positions because you can see everything happening around you! Mommy just bought you a Bumbo yesterday, which helps you sit up and you did great in it earlier!
For the past few weeks you have been on a great schedule / routine of sleep, eat, play, sleep, etc. and it has been so nice for Mommy and Daddy and you because you are so much happier getting 3 or 4 naps a day! Plus you love your play time! You're also enjoying baths much more now... probably a lot because it's been so hot that you love being naked!
Mommy took lots of three month pictures of you today... I had wanted to do professional ones, but decided to just do them closer to Christmas, so I got your soft green blanket, stripped you down to your diaper, and took pictures of you on our bed. You had a lot of fun and the pictures are so cute!

Good to have my Love home! :o)
It has been quite awhile since I wrote on here... a whole week! Which is definitely a long while for me! :o) Right now it is 8:45 Tuesday morning and Daniel is still in his swing hopefully sleeping away. At least he hasn't made a peep so far, so I figured since I just ate breakfast I should try to update this before he wakes up fully and needs to eat and start his day.
Updating from last week... The rest of the week went pretty well after Monday, although I missed Scott SO much! It was really hard, and for some reason seemed like a MUCH longer week than the other time he had been gone! I'm very glad we went down to Delta Monday afternoon - Thursday afternoon, though, because being able to talk to them and watch TV definitely helped the time go by a little bit faster. Daniel did awesome down there, also! He has been doing great on his schedule, now, and if we are home on time (we have been trying this week... but we need to try harder), he will even go down for bed by 9 or 9:30 now and sleep til almost 8. (Last night he had some troubles falling asleep so that didn't happen until 10:45 again.) Anyway, he was amazing and my parents had some good, quality time with him... conversing with him (he was 'talking' up a storm at certain times every day), laughing with him, and smiling. :o) He made us all laugh again and again... our little Danny is SO cute! (I need to load my new pics on here and post some more... I know it's been awhile, but he is growing up- our little man.)
Thursday we came back into GJ and we went to the first of two softball games my family / friends are on. It was still like 100 degrees at 7 pm, though, so Daniel and I left after the first one and went by Red Box and Wendy's so Mommy could get an ice cream and a movie to help my evening be somewhat fun without Scott. Friday, we counted down the time until 6:30 pm when I went to go pick him up at the airport and our amazing weekend begun! We went out to eat at Applebees for dinner and then just hung out and played with Daniel all evening. He was so excited his Daddy was home - they so love each other! :o)
Saturday, we woke up at a fairly early time and went and got donuts to munch on as we went to a few yard sales. It is quite a different thing yard saling with a baby... that's for sure. :o) We took turns getting out, so we didn't have to take sleeping Daniel out each time. After awhile we drove over to the mall and went shopping for new dresses for me. Considering I seriously only owned two dresses, Scott figured it was about time for me to get some new ones for the upcoming weddings we had and just for whenever I wanted to wear one. He bought me two really nice ones, and they make me feel so pretty. :o) I love them!
Saturday afternoon we just hung out at our apt. and rested before getting ready for our friends', Anna and Jarret's wedding that evening. My sister, Amanda, came over and babysat for us which was such a blessing and Scott and I had a wonderful time at the wedding! It was a beautiful backyard wedding and Anna looked amazing! We were so happy for them! :o)
Sunday we had church and then hung out at home (we are learning the important parent things of staying home as much as we can to keep Daniel on his schedule and plus he does so well at home) before our 'family dinner' Sunday night. We had it at David and Jessica's new apartment (they are getting married in just 2 weeks). It is an amazing apartment and it was a lot of fun hanging out with everyone and playing games after our taco dinner.
Yesterday, was a not planned busy day that turned busy, but lots of fun. :o) Daniel and I joined most of my family and my sister, Amanda's, boyfriend, Tyler's family for lunch to celebrate his birthday with great steaks and other food! After leaving there I hung out with Jessica and then David for awhile, just talking over at their place. Scott joined me there and then at 6:15 we all went over to Andrea and Drew's for basically a 'family dinner 2'. :o) It was supposed to be small group, but no one but us two couples could come, so we just invited everyone else again and we had amazing food two nights in a row! Plus we ate outside on their deck and it had cooled off a bit, so it was a wonderful summer dinner! :o) SO much fun! I love seeing Daniel with that group, too... They really are like more uncles and aunts to him, and everyone loves him SO much! They all hold him and help us take care of him as we're eating, etc. and he just feels like part of the fam. :o)
Well, that was a quick overview of the week. I'll try to load up my pics now if he doesn't wake up and put some on here.

Day 1 of another week without Scott :o(
I took Scott to the airport yesterday morning for his trip down to Houston for the week. He has conferences / training to go to all week, and then will be coming home Friday evening if all his flights go well this time. :o) I talked to him last night and so far the humidity hadn't gotten to him, but we'll see after he's out in it during the actual day! I hope he has a good time and doesn't get too bored in the evenings... He doesn't really want to drive around for fun like he did in ND, but he does have another co-worker down there who said he'd show him around. :o)
I am heading down to Delta with Daniel this afternoon through Thursday afternoon to help with some of the loneliness and make sure I don't go crazy with little one by myself. It is amazing how much Scott helps out with day-by-day. I do fine during the day, but in the evenings I really need a break if it's been an extra fussy day. Scott always helps with that and when I don't do anything, it's really hard! :o( So it will be good being down there and seeing my parents again. They just got back from a 2 week trip to the Northeast, so I'm excited to see pics and hear all about their adventures!
This weekend was SO much fun with my hubby and son! Thursday night I went to the softball game (which they won - it was an amazing game!) and then went to dinner with my sister, Amanda and Vienna, my niece. Scott got home late and then went to dinner with his brother and after our dinners, Daniel and I met up with the guys downtown in time to walk through the Farmer's Market area and get some ice cream. We also went to the toy store down there which I guess Scott and his brother LOVE! :o) They had tons of fun in there... much more than Daniel did who thinks that toys aren't THE most exciting thing right now! After that, Bryan came over and watched a movie with Scott while I got Daniel ready and put down for bed.
Friday I did random things all day (can't really remember what) and then that evening we had our first official "Family Night." My family growing up always had a Friday night family night in which we ate pizza, ice cream, our soda of the week, and watched movies or played games. It was such a fun time and even when we got older we continued having it! Scott and I had both talked about it before kids and decided that we really wanted to make it a tradition in our family, also. SO, Scott said we should begin it, so we decided to have a picnic as a family. Daniel and I went shopping for sandwich stuff, pretzels, sparkling cider, and stuff to make peanut butter bars for dessert and then I got all the picnic stuff together for once Scott got home. He got off and we headed to Sherwood Park - our favorite park in town! We all sat down on our blanket and began eating and feeding Daniel his bottle when there came the rain! Yep! Our picnic idea when down the drain at the point and we had to gather everything really fast and head back to the car! Wonderful Scott decided that instead of just heading home (I love how he knows me so much - I was SO excited to get out with them!), he said we would just go on a drive and have an in-the-car picnic. We ended up driving around for 3 hours which was so much fun! We talked and Daniel slept and we drove on roads we'd never been on and ended up in Debeque, which we always drive past on the interstate but have never gone to. It wasn't that exciting of a town, but hey, the area around it was beautiful! We also drove up to Orchard Mesa area and saw where we both used to live as children and drove through some really big, rich homes that are all new up there. After getting home, Scott and I watched Valentine's Day after Daniel went to sleep. It was a good movie - we really enjoyed it. :o)

He hung out with his brother for the rest of the morning and then once he got back we headed down to Delta to hang out a few hours with my sister, Lelia and her husband Wayne who were down there for the NightVision Christian concert. We also really wanted to go on another drive to talk more and just hang out down there playing games and watching TV. We watched some America's Got Talent with Lelia and Wayne, ate pizza, and then played some of a Farming Game with them before they headed off to Olathe around 5. Scott and I played some Wii after that and hung out / played with Daniel until around 8:30 when we decided to head home! :o) It was another fun day, and I'm so glad I have those amazing memories with my hubby to think about all week while he's gone. Gosh, I miss him so much when he's not here, but I also know that these times are needed for him to keep the job he has. We have been so blessed by this job and it is so amazing that he got it when he did! So, I know that I need to be okay with it, so I am and I'm just glad that I have little one to keep me company... ;o) That is if he ever wakes up. He has turned into a late sleeper... sleeping in until 9 or 10 almost all weekend. It is already 9:15 and I haven't heard anything yet. Maybe I should go watch him sleep because he is the CUTEST little boy sleeping! :o) (He takes after his daddy with that...) I love him so much!

He's sleeping! At least for right now...
Well, I rocked him for awhile and he fell asleep on me, so I put him in his swing for a nap. He has already woke up a little and cried but then fell right back asleep, so we'll see how long this'll last. I might have to try swaddling again if I can't seem to get him to nap today... He hasn't been swaddled in well over a month because he didn't like it the greatest, but it might help now because I think the whole sense that he is falling is what wakes him up a lot because he will move wave his arms and legs in the air and then wake up. Hmm... Gotta love this new parent thing. ;o) It definitely is fun, but I'm going to love it when I know more the second time around!
It's been a good week around here. Scott has been extremely busy with work, though, but at least it's work he enjoys so that is better for him. I don't exactly understand everything he has been doing, but I just know he's been working with some guys from TX up in the Marathon fields near Parachute all week. Because he has been going up there each day and they are trying to get a lot done this week, he has been leaving the house by 6:15 every morning and then usually gets home between 6 and 7 in the evening. We had dinner and hung out with friends Tuesday and Wednesday evening, which was a lot of fun! We played games with them - Family Business (a wonderful mob game of killing off other mobs... lol), Scattagories (amazing game), and a newlywed game which was definitely not the most exciting we all decided... The games were lots of fun, especially since I think we've only played a few games since Daniel was born. He did great both evenings - loved seeing new homes and having new people hold him!
I haven't done too much since Monday... Scrapbooked a little during his very short morning naps that he has been taking. I need to work out, but have not felt motivated with that at all this week! Otherwise, I've spent time with him, done dishes, watched a few shows online, and read. I've been reading a book that Scott's brother, Bryan, had passed on to Scott to read... It's called A Million Miles in a Thousand Years by Donald Miller, the author of Blue Like Jazz. It's really interesting and good and it's been good to read again! I need to find some books at the church library to read sometime... Might as well take advantage of the time I have right now to read, knowing that soon enough Daniel won't be as tired during the day, but will just want to roll and then crawl all over the place! :o)
Tonight we have a softball game, but it's at six so I don't think Scott will be able to make it. I'll probably still take Daniel to it, though, considering my family and friends are all on the team. We'll cheer them on and it'll give us something to do! I might take him out to the store or something this afternoon, too, if he is doing good. Maybe that way he can get some sleep in his car seat. He loves that when he's driving and usually when he's in the stroller except for the last few times just I have taken him... Maybe he just prefers Daddy driving the stroller. :o) I want to get a few different books at the store...
Okay, since he is still sleeping - I think it's actually been 10 minutes already - I think I'll stop and do some other things now. :o) Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
It's been a good week around here. Scott has been extremely busy with work, though, but at least it's work he enjoys so that is better for him. I don't exactly understand everything he has been doing, but I just know he's been working with some guys from TX up in the Marathon fields near Parachute all week. Because he has been going up there each day and they are trying to get a lot done this week, he has been leaving the house by 6:15 every morning and then usually gets home between 6 and 7 in the evening. We had dinner and hung out with friends Tuesday and Wednesday evening, which was a lot of fun! We played games with them - Family Business (a wonderful mob game of killing off other mobs... lol), Scattagories (amazing game), and a newlywed game which was definitely not the most exciting we all decided... The games were lots of fun, especially since I think we've only played a few games since Daniel was born. He did great both evenings - loved seeing new homes and having new people hold him!
I haven't done too much since Monday... Scrapbooked a little during his very short morning naps that he has been taking. I need to work out, but have not felt motivated with that at all this week! Otherwise, I've spent time with him, done dishes, watched a few shows online, and read. I've been reading a book that Scott's brother, Bryan, had passed on to Scott to read... Poor sleepy Daniel...
This morning Daniel is 11 weeks old! He has been sleeping amazing at night lately, which I have greatly enjoyed! :o) We are able to get him down usually between 9:30 and 10:30 and he sleeps until 7:30 or 8 every morning! Because of those long nights, though, I have NOT been able to get him down for his normal 2 - 3 hour morning nap, though, so I have really been having to try to be patient these past few days as I've had a very fussy baby! :o( Poor boy is so tired - yawning, rubbing his eyes, and fussy - but he won't go down for a nap all day! The past two days have been like this... I'm praying it's only a growth spurt because otherwise I'm going to have to think of something to show him that he needs to nap or else he will be wiped out and drive him and I crazy! That is the hard part I can tell as he gets older... His stubborn self is already showing through and he knows what he wants. It's hard to step up as a mom and begin teaching him already that I am over him and know what's best for him. I'm so thankful that we have had so many parents help us out with ideas and advice, though!
Well, I was going to write more but need to get him. He just started crying on his play mat.. time to move elsewhere and really try to get him to sleep. If only he would understand that he really is just tired and NEEDS to sleep!

Wonderful 4th of July Weekend
It has been a very busy, but awesome long weekend! Scott had Friday and today off from work so we have definitely taken advantage of having him home by having lots of great family time! Friday we hung out around the house all morning and then after an appointment that afternoon, we headed up to Glade Park where we met his parents and brother, Bryan, to fish and having dinner up at Enoch Lake. It was a fun drive up there and then we bundled Daniel up in his stroller and went down by the lake where Scott and Bryan fished for awhile. Daniel had lots of fun for awhile, and got to try out his new rain cover for his stroller as it was sprinkling from time to time. Bryan ended up catching two fish, and even though Scott didn't catch anything, he still had a great time! I headed up to the cars after awhile with Daniel and Evelyn (Scott's mom) so that Norman (Scott's dad) could hold Daniel for awhile while I ate a yummy sandwich for dinner. After dinner I held Daniel for awhile just looking around the campsites around us... thinking about how much fun it will be to go camping with Daniel in a year or two. He's going to love it! :o) Once the guys finished fishing, we loaded everything up in the cars again and headed further up the road where we stopped to have a campfire and cook the fish - Scott and Bryan wanted to eat them... disgusting! :o( It was BEAUTIFUL up there, though, because there were gorgeous yellow flowers everywhere and the sun was just about to start setting by then, which is one of my favorite times to take pics! So I did that while hanging out with the others, also. Once we were ready to head back, Scott, Daniel, and I drove the back way to the pavement, which did take a lot longer, but it is an amazing drive and we saw a beautiful sunset! Scott and I had a great time talking like normal on those long drives, listening to country music, and trying to soothe a very tired baby near the end who was way tired of those bouncy, bouncy roads! :o( Poor boy... he was already exhausted and it was going to be a LONG weekend! We stepped into parent mode and realized that we were going to have to cut out some of our plans for the weekend, so that we could have some type of normalcy for him at home...
Saturday we ended up staying at home all day trying our very best to get Daniel more used to taking naps as soon as he gets tired... basically actively doing a schedule instead of sort of being on one. It's been really hard for me to be okay with putting him down all the time during the day in his swing (hopefully he'll learn to sleep during the day in his crib soon... but right now the swing is the only thing that works), because I just want to hold him all day, but I know that the sooner he learns to take naps the better and we won't have as fussy of a baby then. SO, we really paid close attention to him all day and as soon as he had been up for an hour and a half at least he was usually either fussy, rubbing his eyes, or yawning, so we'd get him quieted down from play time and rock him to sleep... He actually did really well! He had four naps which is SO amazing considering he usually only has one - in the morning - other than short ones on me during the day. We had our friends', Anna and TJ's, wedding at five, so after that last nap of the afternoon we headed to the wedding.
It was such a beautiful wedding and was so much fun seeing them become husband and wife! I was so excited for Anna and thought she was beautiful in her amazing wedding dress! The bridesmaids were gorgeous, also... their dresses were amazing! I so wish I had brought our camera to take pics, but forgot it so I have none to post. We had lots of friends at the wedding and then my sisters both came, also, so basically once the reception hit I did not hold Daniel more than a few seconds until right before we left around 8 when I fed him his bottle. He had lots of people to hold him and dance with him... he was quite the dance partner! :o) He loved the music, as he always does, but it was quite loud so let's just say that after we left the wedding he fell asleep very quickly and slept for a LONG time that night!
Sunday - the 4th - was such a fun day, also! We went to church which was very good and then headed straight over to Red Robin afterwards for lunch with our friends Andrea and Drew, Nate and Christine, David and Jessica, and friends from Colorado Springs - Val, Kevin, and Val's mom. It was nice visiting with all of them while eating yummy hamburgers and fries - I love their burgers! ;o) We headed back home after that so Daniel could rest again and then went to a BBQ with my old church at 5. We played water-balloon volleyball, a beanbag game (like Washers, for those who know that game), and ate lots of yummy food! Everyone got the chance to meet Daniel so he had many people holding him again, but did awesome! He took a nap at home after that before we headed out for the final event of the day - his first fireworks show! We ended up going to the new parking garage on Mesa State's campus and meeting a group of our friends up on the very top level where they had an awesome view of the fireworks show. Daniel and I hung out inside a friend's car so it wouldn't be as loud for him and he was great - they didn't bother him at all! I thought he would enjoy watching them because he loves bright colors and lots of movement but he didn't end up really watching them... I guess Mommy was much more interesting to look at after all. ;o) Lol.

This morning we all slept in and I ran to the store to get sandwich stuff, lots of cereal which we were almost out of, and bagels for breakfast from the new Einsteins Bagels (a very delicious place!). Daniel ended up taking a 4 hour nap, which meant that other than that morning nap he has only taken one other 15 min. nap and has now been down for 30 min. with this one. Scott is hiking with some friends of his right now in the heat of the day and I just finished watching a movie and talking to my grandmother, Nanny, on the phone! I was SO excited that she called!! :o) I'm hoping that I'll be able to see her real soon, especially because she hasn't seen Daniel yet... :o( I want him to meet her so bad so hopefully everything all works out and she can come up here soon!!!

10 Weeks Old
Dear Daniel,
You have been the greatest blessing ever, Daniel, and I am so glad we have you as our first child! You’re an amazing little boy already and we have enjoyed every part so far! You have already changed so much… You have gotten so much bigger and are already doing many things! You’ve been holding your head up for awhile now and smiling at everyone almost all the time. Your smiles are amazing – they make any hard day feel so much better! You rolled over once four weeks ago. Mommy has been trying to get you to work more on that, although you really dislike tummy time right now. You began playing with your toys on your play mat by hitting the rattles and smiling/trying to laugh at them a week or two ago, which is so cute to watch. Your favorite things to do right now are swing in your awesome, comfy swing; eat, as always; sleep; play with your Mr. Octopus toy; and have “conversations” with Mommy and Daddy. You love it when we hold you on our knees and just talk and talk with you. You try to talk to us, which is so cute because you’re really trying. :o) You also love grabbing Mommy’s hair and other things now… you have quite the grasp. I think Daddy has been teaching you to punch, too, because you love clenching your fists and punching your toys, the air, and us. And you think your fists are fascinating. Last night you were lying on your changing table just looking at your clenched fists for several minutes… it was very entertaining for Mommy to watch because you were seriously fascinated with them! We are taking you fishing in a few days for the first time. I’m sure you’ll love it although you can’t quite hold a fishing pole yet. But soon enough we’ll have to get you your own pole to fish with Daddy. You two are going to have so much fun together! We can already tell you will be quite the off-roading boy like him, because almost nothing makes you happier than driving over the big bumps in the road. No smooth traveling like Mommy likes… you are all boy, which is great! We love you SO much!
