I am watching Daniel play with all his new toys and Lydia is down playing on her play mat looking and hitting all her new toys! They are both in new outfits from Christmas and they are so very cute! :o) I love these two little ones SO much! As every day passes faster and faster, though, I am realizing that if we don't enjoy the time we have right now we'll be looking back and wondering what happened!
Our Christmas was amazing! We had a very packed full week, but we had lots of fun at the same time so that was good! Thursday night we went over to my sister, Amanda's, house and met her, my niece Vienna, and my other sister, Lelia, over there to make and decorate Christmas sugar cookies and then drive around looking at Christmas lights - a yearly tradition for our family! Daniel and Vienna had a lot of fun cutting out the cookies using the cookie cutters, which Daniel kept saying over and over - "cookie cutter, cookie cutter, cookie cutter". He didn't fully understand what to do at first until we showed him a few times and then he would take a cutter and make cookies all over the dough, even cutting Vienna's cookies in half! Oops! Poor Vienna is not used to having younger kids around, so we had to assure her that he was not doing that to try to make her mad, and she was a good sport and just made some other ones after we rolled out the dough again! Us adults enjoyed holding Lydia, visiting, helping with the cookie making, and drinking sparkling cider. It was a fun break in the middle of a busy week getting all of our Christmas gifts finished and wrapped! After we tasted and iced many of the cookies we all loaded up in our van and drove around for almost an hour looking at some of the super cool lights around GJ! That was a lot of fun, and the big house with the lights that go with music on the radio was our very favorite like always!
Friday morning Scott's parents and brothers came over around 10 with a delicious breakfast! We started the day out eating biscuits, gravy, an egg casserole, cinnamon rolls, and drinking orange juice around the table! After we finished breakfast and cleaned up some dishes we finally dove into the gifts (I'm thinking that whole eating breakfast thing first might be something to change next year though... I think opening gifts first sounds much better!). Lydia was about to go down for her nap so she (or mainly me) opened most of her gifts before she fell asleep and then the rest of us spent the next hour or so opening up everything! We all got some awesome gifts! Scott got tool stuff, new tool cabinet things, and a "Dad's Workshop" sign for his garage; Daniel got a desk/easel with a little chair, clothes, a book, some car hooks for his bedroom, a thing to measure his height to go in his bedroom, PJs, a super cool track thing for cars to go down, a dump truck to screw together and apart, lots of tools, and a new workbench built by Scott; Lydia got lots of cute clothes, a very cute mobile to go on her crib, books, toys, a bow holder we made her, a little ABC box to store hidden treasures in, and I'm sure a few other things I forgot; and I got a Kohl's gift card for clothes (SO exciting!), a Barnes and Noble gift card for Nook books, a book, the Scotty McCreery CD, and an IHome Dock Station!
We spent the next few hours during Daniel's nap just hanging out and enjoying our gifts and Scott, Bryan, and I played a pretty sweet game of darts with Scott and I taking turns holding Lydia. We had an amazing dinner of homemade Mexican food made by Scott's mom, and cheesecake for dessert! Yumm, yumm! After dinner we just hung out until I left to go to a friend's birthday get-together til 11! It was lots of fun... we had pedi's at the mall which was awesome - I hadn't had a pedi since my wedding! Then we went to Il Bistro downtown and had dessert and hung out talking! Great girl time!
Saturday morning after the kids were up and breakfast was eaten we opened our stockings and the kids opened their Christmas PJs, since it was Christmas Eve morning! Everyone loved their stocking gifts and after we opened them Scott and I packed everything up and got ready to head down to Delta! We got down there by noon and spent the afternoon hanging out and visiting with my family and my Uncle Tommy (Mom's brother) and cousins! All the guys played a fun game of paintball over all the up and down snowy terrain of my parents' land while we girls and Daniel watched from inside the warm house! That night we had chili for dinner and then once the kids were in bed many of us went hot-tubbing which was fun.
Sunday was Christmas and we had a wonderful day! Not everyone in my family had the best day ever, though, because the stomach flu made it's round Christmas Eve and three or four of my family who was down there were up many times that night throwing up and not feeling well at all! :o( We were good, though, other than Daniel who threw up a few times on Christmas. Poor guy. We had cinnamon rolls and egg bake for breakfast and once everyone was ready we opened stockings and then began the long, all-day process of opening gifts. We had so many gifts and since we only open one at a time (which is definitely the way to do it), we didn't end up finishing because of all the breaks for eating and stuff until like 3 in the afternoon! It was a lot of fun, though, and yet again we all got lots of cool things! I can't remember everything right now, but I know Scott got a lot more tools and stuff for his wood-working, a pocket knife, and the game Quelf; Daniel got tons of cute clothes, toys, ABC magnets, a rug for his room that has roads on it to play with his cars, and one of Dad's awesome "Taylor toys"; Lydia got so many cute clothes, also, a snail toy with a mirror that she loves, a butterfly hook for clothes in her room, the ABC magnets also, and other cute stuff; and I got a Cricut machine (YAY!), a Red Mango gift card, the base of the new size of Miche bag (SO excited to get a shell for it for my birthday!), a picture frame for our living room, and another gift card for whatever I want - I need to think about that... :o) So many great things! For our lunch/dinner we had ham, smoked briscit (Scott had made that all day on Friday), potato casserole, corn casserole, and spice cake and dump cake for dessert. It was delicious! We had a wonderful day with family and Monday we just hung out in the morning and headed home right after lunch!
That was our weekend! It was awesome! :o) I will try to write again soon but for now I need to go read to sleepy little boy and then it's his nap-time! :o) Lydia just went down for her nap, too, so maybe I can get some things done! Yay!

I miss blogging...
Scott and Daniel are in town picking up some dinner for us to have tonight and I am here hanging out with Lydia in our house that definitely needs to be cleaned up! It seems like the days have gone by so fast and I haven't been able to slow them down to enjoy them more! I loved our Christmas and the past few weeks, but it's sad at the same time that they are already past and our little Lydia's first Christmas is over! Definitely makes me realize how fast time passes and how much I need to enjoy the moments I have. I think tonight since we are actually home and no one is coming over maybe I can make the time and sit down to update this blog... Sometimes I forget how relaxing and stress-relieving it is to me to sit down and journal or blog, which is just about the same thing for me. I need to make the time for it more often because I think it helps me think through the days and remember how blessed we are and how much we have to be thankful for! But for now my boys just got home so I need to go get dinner ready! Hoping tonight will be a fun time hanging out just our little family! Then tonight Scott and I are watching the new Harry Potter movie finally... maybe if I can concentrate on both blogging and the movie I can type and watch it at the same time! :o)

Busy Days = Short Post
It has been such a long time since I wrote anything on here which is so sad I know! I want to really catch up with everything we've been up to and I wanted to tell all about our trip to Kansas and Texas last month, but I know that sometimes moms just can't do it all! :o( I have been having a wonderful Christmas season, though, but I can hardly believe it's only a week and two days until Christmas already! AND, only a week until we celebrate with Scott's side of the family! Goodness! How does it seem to come faster each year?! We haven't done too many Christmas activities and fun stuff like I really wanted, but we have been working lots on several Christmas gifts which I will tell about and post pics after Christmas. :o) I had really wanted to do some Christmas activities with Daniel, and now that I'm almost caught up with all my gift making, maybe I can figure out some things to do next week. Thursday night we are joining my sisters and niece, Vienna, to make Christmas cookies, decorate them (which Daniel should love if he doesn't just eat them all), and then go drive and look at lights! AND, tomorrow night the plan is to go downtown and watch Fruita's little Parade of Lights before dinner with Scott's family. It has been an amazing few weeks, though, and each night as I've been staying up late working on stuff and Scott has been working on wood-work projects in the garage, I'm reminded again and again how amazing our life is and how much God has blessed us! :o) I know there are so many of our friends and family who are going through tough times right now, but even through it all I'm reminded how much God loves and cares for us all! I don't know how I could make it through some days without that reminder... Being a mom is so enjoyable but it is also one of the most difficult things I've ever done!
Well, I would stay up later and write more but this morning was the first time in over 6 weeks that Lydia woke me up before the sun came up so I should head to bed just in case she does that again... :o/ Plus we have another busy day tomorrow... our last full day off to work on stuff before all our Christmases next week! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season, also, and I promise I will write more as soon as I can!

Lydia Grace - 3 months and 3 days old!
Dear Lydia,
Hello my dear little one! You are napping right now as your brother is running around playing with his toys! Mommy has been very busy working on Christmas gifts lately, but I wanted to sit down and write you a little letter letting you know everything you have been busy doing this past month! First of all, you are getting so big! We were not able to get you in for your 2 month appointment, so it won't be until next month for your 4 month that we'll be able to see exactly how much you weigh and how tall you've gotten, but everyone can tell that it is a lot! You are such a big girl and so in love with your life!
You are full of smiles ALL the time, and in the past month you have really began to love to play! You will spend a good thirty minutes to an hour several times a day on your activity mat hitting your toys, grabbing and moving them around, laughing, "talking", and smiling at your Mr. Octopus toy, your bug rattle toy, and the baby in the mirror! Mommy loves bringing scrapbook stuff down on the floor by you, and as you play, I have fun scrapping all of your cute pictures! Your big brother, Daniel, loves to help with whatever he can and keeps you very entertained by making sure you always have plenty of toys around you to play with! And, even though sometimes he will accidently kick you or drop something on your head, you still love him and at least you don't seem to remember for long! Hopefully he will learn soon that he has to be a bit more gentle with you!
You began laughing a few weeks ago and we love to hear you giggle and laugh at us! This morning I was kissing you over and over and over and each time I did, you would laugh really big! You were too cute! :o) I love you SOOO much, little girl!
You love to sleep, which is quite the blessing! For your three naps during the day, you usually sleep in your swing, but you'll also sleep fine while being held, or you love lying down on Mommy and Daddy's comfy bed! Since you still haven't rolled over yet, we are able to put you on that with pillows all around, but enjoy it while you can because I'm thinking you might be rolling over really soon! Ever since you turned 2 months you have been sleeping a good 10 to 12 hours a night, which is absolutely amazing!
Lydia, you had such a wonderful month! We took our long road trip to Kansas and Texas to see your extended family and you had a great time meeting your great-grandparents and lots of great aunts, uncles, and cousins! You did amazing in the car, and even though we were in so many new places you still slept great and seemed as happy as can be being with our little family! :o) We also had Thanksgiving, which we celebrated with both your daddy's family and your mommy's. That was a lot of fun and even though you really wished you could have had some of the yummy food, you still had fun watching everyone and being held and talked to. You LOVE the Christmas tree and all the lights in our home. You try to reach out and touch all the lights and especially like them when it's night and we turn off the rest of the lights in the house.

Christmas is just around the corner...
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! This month has been such a busy one for us, but I have to say that I'm looking SO forward to Christmas which is seriously coming up way too fast! Tomorrow I really want to go to the craft fair in town just because they are amazing and get me all in the Christmas spirit and then in the afternoon / evening we are putting up our Christmas tree, village and decorations! SO excited! I'm also really excited this year because I know it'll be the first one that Daniel will actually sort of realize what's happening, so that makes it even more special... even though it'll be good times keeping him away from the ornaments on the tree! I'm also excited to maybe start some more Christmas / winter family traditions... for one, we are definitely going to take the family up on the Grand Mesa or on Glade Park to go sledding! Daniel will LOVE that, and Lydia is such a great little girl who loves doing pretty much everything as long as she is with people who love and hold her! :o)
Our Thanksgiving Day was great! We spent the entire day over at Scott's parents with his parents and Scott's brothers. Daniel had a great time running back and forth between his uncles and his grandparents and all his toys! The meal was amazing and it was nice to just hang out, rest, watch the parade and football, and look through lots of ads! :o) Last night while Scott stayed home with the sleeping kids, I went out to brave the crowds and got some things at Walmart and quite a lot at Kohls, which was awesome! Getting super close to finishing our Christmas presents, other than the ones we still need to make! :o) It was actually a lot of fun getting out and shopping, even with the crowds. I've decided I'm just really laid-back because I just walk through all the crowds in no big hurry, getting what I need and then visiting with people in line. :o) I got back by 2 a.m. and got some sleep before the kids woke up this morning around 8.
We had donuts for breakfast (Daniel LOVES going to City Market to get donuts with Daddy!) and then after cleaning up some around the house Scott and I headed into town for a quick date while his parents watched the kids. We watched the new Twilight movie which was really good, although definitely more gory and bloody than the others! As soon as the movie ended I headed over to Joanns at the mall to get some shopping done there while Scott went back to help with the kids. It was so much fun getting to shop and look all around the store just by myself and not in the middle of a huge crowd or in the middle of the night! :o) We had dinner at Scott's parents and now I'm just hanging out with Scott while he is watching Lydia and Daniel just went down for the night.

2 months old already!
Dear Lydia,
Hello little one! You are taking such a good nap right now so I decided that I would write you a little letter telling all about your big changes since month 1! You are 2 months and 2 days old today, and still growing and growing! Your next appointment will hopefully be this week to be able to see how much bigger you have grown, but as of a week and a half ago, you are already up to almost 12 lbs! You are still wearing your 0-3 month clothes, but I'm thinking that once Thanksgiving rolls around we'll be getting out your 3-6 month clothes!
We love you so much, little one! This morning Daddy and I had you in bed between us after Mommy fed you and we just talked and talked to you, as you grinned at us over and over! You LOVE to smile, and smile at us all the time! You are definitely a happy little girl! I can't wait for you to start laughing! I just know you will have amazing laughs, just like your big brother! You have really started 'cooing' at us quite a lot lately, which is so much fun! Makes me just want to have little conversations all the time with you! Just in the past two weeks or so you have been loving your bouncer so much more and will let me put you in that or on your activity mat / blanket for awhile at a time while I cook, do the dishes, or hang out some with Daniel. You are finally noticing little toys around you and love hitting them with your hands and have grabbed a toy or two from time to time. We leave on Friday for a week trip to Kansas and Texas, and hopefully you'll figure out that grabbing technique fast because you will love being able to play with your rattle toys on your car seat in the car!
You are an amazing sleeper, and that has been a continual blessing to me! For the past week and a half you have been sleeping 9 to 11 hours at night straight, except for two nights when you woke up after 7 and 9 hours, which isn't bad at all either! You love your beauty sleep and you love being all warm under your blanket in bed! :o)
For Halloween this year you were a cute little ducky! You were absolutely adorable! Your mommy, Pappy, Aunt Lelia, and Aunt Amanda took turns holding you as we walked around trick-or-treating which was so much fun! You did really well, even though you weren't able to go as long as Daniel and your cousin, Vienna, were, but you enjoyed the part that you were a part of!
This month you will begin to experience your first holiday season with Thanksgiving and then decorating for Christmas! I so hope you enjoy the Thanksgiving / Christmas time of year as much as I do! It's always been one of my very favorite times of year and I've got so many warm, wonderful memories of this time just like I hope you have one day! :o) SO excited to celebrate with our wonderful little family of four!

Halloween
We had a great time Monday night hanging out with family, trick-or-treating, eating great food, and celebrating my dad's birthday! Our little dragon, Daniel, and ducky, Lydia, were super cute in their costumes and even though Daniel hadn't been feeling the greatest for most of the weekend, he seemed to do so much better that evening and played, laughed, and ate until we finally had to put him down for bed at 9!
We put Daniel's costume on before all of my family got here, so that we could get him used to it a little at a time. We had a dance off in the living room with the costumes on, which helped him get more used to it, and then Daniel and I played outside for awhile as he ran around in his cute little dragon costume! After awhile, Scott brought Lydia out so we could get some cute pictures of her and I tried to get some pictures of Daniel, although he would not stay still so that didn't work all that well!
Mom, Dad, Lelia and Wayne got here after a bit, and then right after Tyler, Amanda, and Vienna got here we all headed over to Scott's parents to trick-or-treat. Scott pulled Daniel in his wagon while Lydia was traded off from person to person as we walked around. It was so much fun walking and talking and seeing how excited Daniel and Vienna were each time they got some candy. :o) Anytime Scott decided to not take Daniel up to a house for some reason, he would point to it and make noises as if to say to take him up there because he needed more candy in his pumpkin!
Vienna, Daniel, Scott, and Tyler trick-or-treated around most of our neighborhood while the rest of us went home earlier and started eating some yummy appetizers and I took some maternity pics of Lelia and Wayne. She is only 23 1/2 weeks along, so not super big yet, but it was fun taking a few pictures because she's been needing some belly pics anyway!
We had lots of fun hanging out and eating food before Dad opened his gifts. Daniel had lots of fun playing with Vienna and running around everywhere... maybe had too much sugar with the cupcakes! :o)
Anyway, it was a great evening and so much fun hanging out with my family! I'm so glad that our kiddos were great the entire evening, too, because that made it much more enjoyable for Scott and I and it was so nice to have a happy Daniel again! :o) Hopefully he'll stay all better and not get sick again for a long time!

Vienna, Daniel, Scott, and Tyler trick-or-treated around most of our neighborhood while the rest of us went home earlier and started eating some yummy appetizers and I took some maternity pics of Lelia and Wayne. She is only 23 1/2 weeks along, so not super big yet, but it was fun taking a few pictures because she's been needing some belly pics anyway!
We had lots of fun hanging out and eating food before Dad opened his gifts. Daniel had lots of fun playing with Vienna and running around everywhere... maybe had too much sugar with the cupcakes! :o)
Anyway, it was a great evening and so much fun hanging out with my family! I'm so glad that our kiddos were great the entire evening, too, because that made it much more enjoyable for Scott and I and it was so nice to have a happy Daniel again! :o) Hopefully he'll stay all better and not get sick again for a long time!

Fall is the best time of year!
I love Fall so much! The days are getting cooler and the leaves are so beautiful all around town, and plans are being made for Thanksgiving which will be here before we know it, and then Christmas will be just around the corner! It definitely is the best time of the year! I have been in such a pumpkin everything mood lately! :o) I have made pumpkin bars with cream cheese frosting a few weeks ago (a snack before we went to the pumpkin patch), and then I made pumpkin muffins the week after and I think I'm going to make some more bars on Monday for my dad's birthday party / Halloween with my family! I seriously feel like I could make lots of pumpkin pies, load some pieces up with whipped cream and eat them with a big mug of hot chocolate! :o) Seriously, who could NOT like Fall?!?!
Speaking of this wonderful season, after wanting to take some leaf / fall pictures of the kids for weeks, we were finally able to go to a park in town yesterday and take lots of cute ones as Daniel ran all over the place playing in the leaves, and Lydia hung out on her blanket! It was such a beautiful day! We had just gone to my follow-up midwife appointment and Scott and I decided that it was such a perfect day and since we had the camera with us, we headed over to the park for picture time! It was also Daniel's first time this year to really get to play in a lot of leaves, so he had a great time with that! I love watching him play! He has the greatest time and it's so fun watching him run around, grab handfuls of leaves, and throw them everywhere! We took lots of pictures... here are some of our favorites of him!
We also took some super cute ones of Lydia. She was being so good just lying down on her blanket looking at us and the trees and sky! She will probably take after me... I LOVE lying on a blanket at the park just daydreaming and enjoying God's beautiful creation! After we got some good pictures of Daniel, Scott held Lydia up on one of the tree branches which she loved! Aren't these pictures adorable?! She is such a bright eyed little girl! I know that Daniel had really big, blue eyes, also, but sometimes I can't get over how big Lydia's eyes get! She definitely likes to take it all in! Sometimes so much so that she gets really, really tired after we are out for awhile because she feels like she needs to be a part of all the action! :o)
Here are some other pictures that Scott took of me and the kids and some really cute ones of Daniel. It was so much fun hanging out at the park! We stayed until it got a bit too chilly and then headed over to the mall...
At the mall we ate some dinner together and then took Daniel to the little play area for kids. He LOVES that place and it is yet another place that I really enjoy watching him! :o) He is hilarious as he runs around playing, climbing, and crawling through things! He LOVES being there, also, because he really enjoys other kids and loves running up to the random kids and talking non-stop about various things! :o) He also likes giving all the cute little girls big hugs (what can we say?! Lol) and last night he followed this one little girl around all over the place, trying to show off a bit it looked like... I should bring my video camera in sometime and take a video... It is just so funny!
We had a wonderful afternoon and evening as a family! Definitely will need to make that more of a weekly event - doing a family night together! :o) We tried going to a Halloween party at some friends', but that didn't go over well after the busy afternoon and evening we had already had. Our poor kiddos were tuckered out so we had to leave within fifteen minutes or so of getting there. Missed everyone at the party, but I wouldn't have traded our family's great time together beforehand for anything! :o)
Today we carved / painted / drew on our pumpkins, which was fun! I want to do something on Lydia's little pumpkin, but haven't decided what yet... Daniel drew on his with markers and I think if we have more time tomorrow or Monday, I'll let him paint on it some, also! I painted on mine, but didn't have a good paintbrush nor very good colors of paint, so I don't really like it too much... Oh, well. :o) It was fun to do, so that's all that matters! We also just hung out and watched some Home Improvement together as a family and Scott got a lot of stuff done in the garage. OH, and I got grocery shopping done, which has needed to be done for like a week and a half now! :o( Finding time to go without just me and the two kids is HARD! I think it should get easier soon enough once she starts liking her car seat more, but right now I'm planning on going without both of them because the last time I did that she cried like the whole time and I felt so bad. So much so that I couldn't think so it took me twice as long to get everything! :o( Oh, well.
So, I am super excited because in just a week from Friday (I can't believe it's just a little over a week away!!!) we are headed over to Kansas and Texas to visit family! It has come along so soon, but I'm really excited!!! I'm praying and hoping that Daniel and Lydia do a lot better than I'm expecting right now in the car... I'm trying to get some different snacks to keep Daniel somewhat entertained, and I'll be putting together some cool activity bags of coloring books, books, toys, etc. for him. We'll definitely have to stop every four or five hours just to get out and let him play and run around, which will be good. I just hope he does well! As for Lydia, who sometimes loves her car seat, but usually hates it, I'm just hoping so will sleep or be happy most of the time! I wish she was of the age where toys somewhat interested her, but she really isn't quite yet, so I might just have to sit next to her a lot to talk and entertain her when she's not sleeping! But, at least we'll only have two full days and two half days of driving total... The rest of the time will be spent with our amazing family, so that'll make it all worth it! :o) We are super excited to see Scott's Grandma again in Kansas for a few days, and then I'm really excited to introduce Scott to my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins that he has never met and show him all of the places he has just heard about a lot! :o) Yay!!! Can't believe it's so soon! Makes me think about all I need to do before then... Packing list to write, ideas of car activities to put together, a book to buy for Scott and I to read in car, etc... :o) OH, and I want to work on writing our Christmas letter while we are driving (if I'm not entertaining kids!), so I'm REALLY excited about that!
Okay, I should probably close this for now! It's about bed time I'm thinking... hopefully Lydia thinks the same thing. :o) She has not wanted to go down for a nap pretty much all day except for on us, which is really weird for her. :o( So, hopefully she will go to sleep easily enough tonight. She has been sleeping SO great at night! Two nights ago she slept for like 10 hours without waking (then I woke her because I was worried!) and then last night she slept for 9 hours! What can I say?! She loves her beauty sleep! :o)

Pumpkin Patch Pictures
Here are some of the pictures I took at the pumpkin patch last week! I wish I had time to write all about it, but I don't! :o( It was SO much fun, though, and we had a wonderful time with Amanda and Vienna and our little family! It is definitely a highlight tradition of our fall season! :o)
